The last weekend has been good for Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Kiara Advani starrer Good Newwz. The film is doing very well as far as the box office collection goes. It has progressed very well on a super-strong Monday by adding ₹13.41 crores. The film has collected an approximated ₹78.40 crores in four days and now dragging towards the ₹100 crores mark. . It drops on account of the lower weekday ticket price in Tier2/3 markets, footfalls at Cinemas were exactly the same or a bit more as on Friday.
It will soon become the Akshay Kumar’s fourth film (Kesari, Housefull 4, Mission Mangal) this year to cross the 100 crores mark. While Houseful 4 had collected 53.22 crores in three days, Mission Mangal earned 97.56 crores in its four days whereas Good Newwz went on to collect 64.99 crores in its first weekend.
Sharing the box office figures of the film trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on Twitter, “#GoodNewwz collects in double digits on Day 4, passes crucial Mon test with flying colours… Multiplexes fantastic… Biz should jump today [31 Dec] and tomorrow [1 Jan]… Fri 17.56 cr, Sat 21.78 cr, Sun 25.65 cr, Mon 13.41 cr. Total: ₹ 78.40 cr. #India biz.”
It has achieved very well in the overseas market. Regarding this Taran shares the overseas figure of the film on Twitter. He wrote, #GoodNewwz – #Overseas – Opening Weekend: $ 3.39 million [₹ 24.19 cr]… Key markets… #USA + #Canada: $ 1.58 mn #UAE + #GCC: $ 606k #UK: $ 384k #ANZ and #Fiji: $ 474k.
So, as of now, Good Newwz stands to see whether it will touch the mark of 100 crores at the box office in this New Year.
