Alia Bhatt recently shared an amusing childhood memory involving her father and filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt while speaking at a special screening of Om Ka Hari. The film stars her mother, actor Soni Razdan, and explores the emotional complexities of the relationship between a father and his son.
Reflecting on her childhood, Alia recalled how Mahesh Bhatt’s highly expressive personality often turned even simple situations into memorable experiences. She remembered an incident from her first-standard days when she was preparing for a spelling test.
According to Alia, she was particularly worried that she might forget the spelling of the word “the”. Her father decided to make sure the spelling stayed firmly in her memory, using an exaggerated and theatrical gesture while teaching it to her.
“My father is very theatrical and that sometimes makes for great memories,” Alia said. Recalling the incident, she described Mahesh as being like a “grizzly bear” during his dramatic lesson and said the experience remained both highly theatrical and entertaining in her memory.
