The release schedules of Prabhas’ much-awaited films Fauzi and Spirit have become a major talking point, with fresh speculation surrounding the films’ theatrical dates. The uncertainty began after Fauzi was delayed from its planned December 2026 release.
One thing is currently clear: Fauzi will not release on December 3, 2026, as previously planned. The delay has subsequently fuelled discussions about whether the film could affect the release schedule of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, which is officially scheduled to hit theatres on March 5, 2027. With no new release date announced for Fauzi, several theories have emerged about when the Prabhas starrer could eventually reach cinemas.
Last week, reports and industry chatter suggested that Fauzi could take over the March 5, 2027 release date currently assigned to Spirit. If that scenario materialises, Spirit could reportedly be pushed to the second half of 2027 or possibly even 2028. At the same time, another view doing the rounds suggests that Spirit could retain its March 5 date and arrive before Fauzi. This would mean Fauzi would have to move beyond January 2027. February, meanwhile, is reportedly not being considered favourably by the stakeholders involved. For now, these remain unconfirmed possibilities, with no official announcement indicating a change to either film’s release schedule.
Interestingly, a direct release-date clash may not necessarily be the outcome. T-Series presents Fauzi and is also producing Spirit, meaning both projects have a common major stakeholder.
With the same production house involved in both films, the release strategy could be worked out around the production timelines and commercial considerations of each project. As a result, the current speculation may ultimately lead to a revised calendar rather than an outright clash. While the release dates remain uncertain, the two films are expected to showcase Prabhas in markedly different characters.
In Fauzi, Prabhas is reportedly set to play a soldier. The character is said to have a powerful and commanding physical presence, with the role designed around a strong screen persona. Spirit, on the other hand, will reportedly see Prabhas play a police officer. According to the buzz surrounding the film, his character does not wear a conventional police uniform because he refuses to follow established norms. The reported characterisation fits the kind of unconventional protagonist often associated with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s storytelling style.
Both Fauzi and Spirit are among the most anticipated multilingual projects in Prabhas’ upcoming filmography. The contrasting roles have also added to the curiosity surrounding the two films.
However, the release calendar remains uncertain. Spirit currently has an official theatrical date of March 5, 2027, while Fauzi is awaiting confirmation of its revised release date following its exit from the December 3, 2026 slot. Until the makers make an official announcement, speculation around the release order of the two Prabhas films is likely to continue.
