Acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is back with his much-anticipated cinematic spectacle, Love & War. Featuring a powerhouse trio—Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal—the film is already generating massive buzz as it begins its production journey.
This magnum opus marks a reunion of sorts for the star cast. Alia Bhatt will be seen sharing the screen with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal once again, having previously worked with Ranbir in Brahmāstra and with Vicky in Raazi. Interestingly, Love & War also brings Ranbir and Vicky back together after their critically acclaimed performance in Sanju.
With Bhansali at the helm, expectations are sky-high, and the makers are pulling out all the stops to ensure a nationwide spectacle. According to a recent report in a leading daily, Love & War is being positioned for a massive pan-India release. An independent industry source revealed, “The makers are planning a grand pan-India release for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War. Ranbir and Vicky have recently delivered massive hits with Animal and Chhaava, respectively. Notably, both actors have made a stronger impact in these markets, with their films seeing significant success in Telugu territories and beyond.”
Indeed, Ranbir’s intense performance in Animal and Vicky’s portrayal in the historical epic Chhaava have won hearts not only in the Hindi belt but also in the southern states, making them household names in the Telugu and Tamil circuits. This growing popularity is expected to further boost the film’s reach and reception across linguistic boundaries.
Adding to the anticipation, last month the cast came together to celebrate Bhansali’s birthday. Alia Bhatt shared heartwarming photos from the celebration on social media, featuring the director with his leading trio—Alia, Ranbir, and Vicky—standing proudly behind him. The occasion doubled as a celebration for the success of Vicky’s Chhaava, further cementing the camaraderie and excitement surrounding the project.
Love & War is slated for a theatrical release in March next year, and fans can barely contain their excitement as Bhansali returns to the big screen with what promises to be another timeless saga.
Meanwhile, the lead actors have an exciting lineup of projects. Ranbir Kapoor will star in Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious adaptation of Ramayana, where he’ll share the screen for the first time with South star Sai Pallavi. The mythological epic will unfold in two parts, with the first chapter hitting theatres during Diwali 2025, and the second expected to follow in Diwali 2027.
Alia Bhatt, on the other hand, is set to headline Yash Raj Films’ action-thriller Alpha alongside Sharvari. The film is expected to showcase a powerful female-led narrative and expand the YRF Spy Universe.
As Bhansali continues to craft his vision with Love & War, audiences across India are eagerly awaiting what is poised to be one of the biggest cinematic events of 2025.
