The Label Ritu Kumar’s latest fashion collection called “Structured Pastoral’ was a zesty, zippy line aimed at the stylish urban Indian woman. The look had a fresh fashion direction at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019 that focused on bold consistent aesthetics.
Inspired by the colours of pastoral and equestrian moods, the shade card was dominated by fiery red and neutral black with other brights of the rainbow added. Making a major introduction into the Label Ritu Kumar look was knitwear, which offered some interesting masculine twists to the flirtatious silhouettes and styles.
The well-known prints by Label Ritu Kumar were seen on a figure hugging dresses, as well as flirty skirts, cool blouses and relaxed pants. The fabric choice remained true to modern contemporary options with tulle, chiffon, silk and cotton along with leather that added to the fashion quotient of the creations.
Scene stealers that showcased the pastoral country-style look that stayed partial to the midi length, were the sheer dress over shorts, another frilled panelled one, pleated dress with tulle overlay, maroon lace dress, embroidered jacket with stretch pants, pleated ombré purple/black skirt with white lace yoke blouse and a delightful printed floral pinafore. The textured jacket over a shirt dress, a flouncy peasant-style one and the frilled panelled dress stayed within the theme. Bringing the equestrian inspiration to the forefront, garments that would appeal to lady jockeys had breeches, shirts and cool pants.
The final shimmering line of pants, bustier, shirts, pleated skirts, gold dazzling mini bolero with rear fringe added to the dazzle of the look.
Accessories that completed the pastoral look included harness, leather headbands, waist packs, fanny bags, leather Obe belts and an occasional horsewhip at the waist.
Perky, peppy, Tara Sutaria, the talented star on the Bollywood horizon brought the show to a close as she strutted down with great aplomb in a black, embroidered, halter, mini pinafore over a white shirt, accessorised with an exciting leather belt with floor kissing long beaded strands.
For a look that spells fashion and style all the way, the “Structured Pastoral” collection by the Label Ritu Kumar offered the right sartorial solutions.
Lakmé Official Makeup Expert at Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2019, Namrata Soni for the Ritu Kumar show kept the face matte and contoured. A sheer blush was used on the cheeks to add a pop of colour. The eyes were defined with a strong brow and heavy mascara, and a smoked outwing. The look was completed with the Lakmé Absolute Matte Revolution Lipstick in the shade Coral Kiss.
