In the wake of the devastating Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor, a decisive retaliatory strike targeting terror camps across the border. The operation, which reportedly dismantled strongholds of groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, has drawn widespread support from citizens and celebrities alike. Among those expressing solidarity are acclaimed actors Rajkummar Rao and Nimrat Kaur, both of whom shared heartfelt reactions to the tragedy and the nation’s strong response.

Speaking at a recent event, Rajkummar Rao reflected on the loss and the importance of national unity. “We wholeheartedly stand by our administration’s decisions. What happened should never have occurred—it has left us all deeply saddened and outraged. In moments like these, we come together as a nation, united in grief and pride. Our armed forces make us immensely proud.” the Bhool Chuk Maaf actor stated.

In a revealing moment during the interaction, Rao was asked what career path he would have pursued had he not become an actor. His answer struck a patriotic chord: “Since I was little, this is the only thing I’ve wanted to do, and I’ve worked hard only towards this. I’ve never thought of a Plan B… But if I have to choose hypothetically, I think I would be in the armed forces. I get very fascinated seeing soldiers.”

This sentiment resonates strongly in the current climate, where national sentiment is running high, and the valor of the Indian Army is being celebrated. Rao’s words reflect a broader feeling of gratitude and admiration for those who serve on the frontlines.

Nimrat Kaur, who is herself the daughter of a martyred soldier, offered a deeply personal perspective. Her father, Major Bhupender Singh, a Shaurya Chakra awardee, was ambushed, kidnapped, and eventually killed by terrorists while constructing critical infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir.

“As a martyr’s daughter and citizen of the country, what happened in Pahalgam was beyond a tragic event,” Nimrat told HT City. “India always has and shall always stand against terrorism. That’s a very important and strong statement that needs to go out.”

She added, “The government, led by PM Modi ji, couldn’t have given a more befitting reply. I understand and resonate with what the families must have felt. From the name itself that has been chosen for the operation—Sindoor—there is symbolism, a message, and an emotion. PM Modi has let his decision do the talking. I feel very proud of the Forces to have made this happen.”

The operation and its naming—Sindoor, a symbol of sacrifice and strength—has struck a powerful emotional chord across the nation. On social media, netizens and celebrities alike applauded the swift action and mourned the lives lost, vowing to stand united in the fight against terror.

As India grapples with the grief of Pahalgam and the hope brought by Operation Sindoor, voices like Rao and Kaur serve as poignant reminders of the shared national spirit that binds us—of empathy, pride, and an unwavering resolve to stand together in the face of adversity.
