Rajkummar Rao, fresh off the overwhelming success of Stree 2, has officially commenced filming for his latest project, Maalik. The actor took to Instagram on Saturday to share this news with his fans, posting an intriguing poster of the film. In his caption, the 39-year-old actor welcomed fans to the world of Maalik, hinting at an exciting journey ahead with the message, “Shoot shuru ho chuka hai, jald hi mulaqat hogi,” which translates to “The shoot has started; we will meet soon.”
The poster features Rajkummar Rao striking a powerful pose, standing atop a police jeep, brandishing a gun. Accompanied by the motivational tagline, “Even if we are not born leaders, we can become one,” the image suggests an action-packed narrative that will explore themes of leadership and authority.
Maaliik is helmed by Pulkit, and is being produced by Kumar Taurani and Jay Shewakramani under the banners of Tips Films and Northern Lights Films. The film’s music will be composed by the duo Sachin Sanghvi and Jigar Saraiya, with lyrics penned by the renowned Amitabh Bhattacharya, promising a memorable soundtrack to complement the film’s storyline.

On the heels of his role as Vicky in Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao continues to capture audience interest. Since its August 15 release, Stree 2 has amassed an impressive ₹442.35 crore in domestic box office earnings.
Looking ahead, Rajkummar is set to appear alongside Triptii Dimri in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, a film set in the 1990s that explores the repercussions of a viral VHS tape containing an intimate video of the characters Vicky and Vidya.
In addition, Rajkummar will team up with Wamiqa Gabbi for the romantic comedy Bhul Chuk Maaf, further showcasing his versatility across different genres.
