Phulera gets political—but the humor’s still intact. Panchayat returns with a bang as Season 4 builds up to the big vote.

The wait is finally over for fans of Panchayat, the slice-of-life comedy-drama that has become a cultural phenomenon with its honest storytelling and endearing characters. On May 3, Prime Video gave audiences their first glimpse into the upcoming Season 4, unveiling the teaser at the WAVES Summit 2025 in Mumbai. The new season is slated to premiere on July 2, and the buzz is already palpable.

Set once again in the fictional village of Phulera, the teaser hints at a dramatic shift in tone with local elections setting the narrative wheels in motion. The once-peaceful rural setting is now charged with political tension as familiar faces prepare to clash in a battle of slogans, strategy, and subtle sabotage. Pradhan Ji, Bhushan, Manju Devi and Kranti Devi are all seemingly in the race — setting the stage for a quirky yet compelling face-off.

Of course, Jitendra Kumar returns as the ever-sincere Abhishek Tripathi, the panchayat secretary who, despite his initial reluctance, has grown increasingly attached to Phulera’s unpredictable charm. His journey, intertwined with the eccentricities of the village’s politics and people, continues to be the emotional anchor of the show.

Prime Video’s Instagram handle added to the hype, sharing the teaser with the caption:
“Phulera mein elections ki garma garmi shuru hone wali hai. #PanchayatOnPrime.”

And if the teaser is anything to go by, we’re in for another round of masterful storytelling that blends humor, heart, and human complexity with remarkable ease.

Backed by The Viral Fever (TVF), Panchayat continues to maintain its core creative team with Chandan Kumar as writer and the directorial reins shared by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya. This continuity has played a major role in retaining the authenticity that fans have come to cherish.

While Season 4 promises new conflicts and laugh-out-loud moments, it is the show’s hallmark subtlety — the pauses, the glances, the unsaid emotions — that continues to make it resonate so deeply with audiences across the country. In an age of high drama and gloss, Panchayat stands out for its simplicity and soul.

As Phulera braces for election chaos, viewers can look forward to a season packed with clever satire, grassroots humor, and the kind of storytelling that stays with you long after the credits roll.
