MORALFIBRE Presents Rakhi With New Insight

by Team Expresso

To promote gender equality among the youth in this festival of Rakshabandhan and to make the women artisans Atmanirbhar, MORAL FIBRE fabrics, an Ahmedabad based social enterprise, has come out with inimitable handcrafted biodegradable and sustainable Rakhis.

These Rakhis have Tulsi seed paper inside them so instead of disposing of them, one can plant them and they will grow into auspicious and healing Tulsi plants. These Rakhis have been made by self-help group (SHO) of women artisans who are trying to make a steady livelihood. Biodegradable Rakhis

Highlighting the importance of this unique range of Rakhis, Ms Shailini Amin, Founder of MORAL FIBRE, shares, “We want to promote gender equality on this occasion. We have been taught to differentiate between males and females siblings right from childhood by our own families. Brother – male child protects and provides and female child needs to be protected and provided for.”

She further added, “Let’s make protection, love and care universal and gender-free. We also want to generate a cultural sentiment among the youth, towards Indian festivals and using hand made products. We at MORALFIBRE believe that ‘values’ we stand for matters the most. Our life and lifestyle choices should follow them as much as we can. We stand for gender equality, let us walk to talk!”Biodegradable Rakhis Biodegradable Rakhis

“Post COVID, things have become difficult for many families around us and livelihood of them has been a matter of concern. With a motive to empower the self-help group of women artisans from the city and contribute towards the environment, we came up with the idea of biodegradable rakhis. This initiative also aligns with the call given by our honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to be vocal for local and making our self Atmanirabhar,” says Ms Shailini Amin, Founder of MORAL FIBRE.

MORAL FIBRE is known for promoting ethical and sustainable clothing and lifestyle. This is their yet another  ‘Values’ based Initiative towards social reform.
