Kareena Kapoor Khan has offered audiences a closer look at Daayra’s making. A new behind-the-scenes video was released on social media on September 12. The BTS feature takes viewers onto Meghna Gulzar’s upcoming crime thriller sets. It introduces the film’s central characters, the creative team, and behind-the-scenes processes. Also, it covers the making of some of its most intense sequences.
At the heart of the video is Kareena’s character, DCP Ajooni Kohli. In a recurring segment titled ‘Inside Ajooni’s Mind’, the actor explains stepping into the role. Footage from the film and its production plays alongside her. Kareena is seen switching between her police uniform and civilian appearance while rehearsing scenes, interacting with the crew and filming emotionally demanding moments.

The BTS footage provides glimpses of the world surrounding Ajooni’s investigation while carefully keeping the film’s central mystery under wraps. Police personnel, tense confrontations, crowded locations and moments of distress feature prominently in the video. Alongside these dramatic sequences, viewers also get a look at the quieter process of rehearsals and preparation.
Kareena’s collaboration with director Meghna Gulzar is another focus of the featurette. Production footage shows the actor and filmmaker discussing scenes as crew members set up shots, monitor takes, and work behind the cameras.
Meghna Gulzar appears in an interview as the film’s director and writer, while writers Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani also discuss their contribution. Prithviraj Sukumaran, introduced as Raman, shares insights into his character, DCP Raman Kumar.
Moreover, Daayra, inspired by true events, follows DCP Ajooni Kohli and DCP Raman Kumar as a case splits the officers. The thriller explores truth, accountability and the moral complexities surrounding justice.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar and written by Gulzar, Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal, Daayra marks Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first screen collaboration. The studio intends to release the film in cinemas on September 18.
