Here is some amazing news for all the movie fans out there from Dharma Productions! After a gap of five years, Dharma Production head honcho Karan Johar is all set to return to the director’s chair.
On Monday, he shared a post on Twitter with a video and captioning It “This is the beginning of a new journey & my way back home – all at once. It’s time to go back to my favorite place, it’s time to create some eternal love stories from behind the lens. “A very special story, truly immersed in the roots of love and family.”
The last part of the tweet is hinting at his next directorial. This is rather interesting news for the entire industry and the movie is definitely going to be extra special. After all, Karan Johar will be donning the director’s hat after 5 years.
Karan Johar’s last directorial was “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil” featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Aishwarya Roy, and Anushka Sharma in the leads. It also had a very special guest appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. While the movie did fairly well at the box office soon after hitting screens all over India, Karan Johar hadn’t returned to direction after that.
As he stated in his video, he took some time off from the creative end of Dharma productions to take care of the business aspect.
Today, on the occasion of Ranveer’s Birthday, Karan Johar announced his next project “Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahani”, it features Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh. It is a tale of romance that is also going to feature veteran actress Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Dharmendra in a pivotal role.
Taking to Twitter, Karan Johar presents Rocky Aur Rani ki Prem Kahani along with a motion poster. He wrote, “Thrilled to get behind the lens with my favorite people in front of it! Presenting Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, headlined by none other than Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan & Sumit Roy.”
The film is a rooted love story with strong family emotions.

Ranveer and Alia won the hearts of millions in Zoya Aktar’s Gully Boy and looks like their adorable chemistry will continue in this film.
In the past year, Karan Johar has only directed a part of the popular web series Lust Stories and Ghost Stories. He has quite a few projects lined up in the near future that is all set to be high on entertainment!
He is producing Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Sooryavanshi’ and Ranbir Kapoor-Alia Bhatt’s ‘Brahmastra’. He will also be launching South Indian Superstar Vijay Deverakonda in Bollywood with ‘Liger’. Ananya Pandey has been cast as the female lead for the same.
