Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi sustained an injury while shooting an intense action scene for the Telugu spy thriller Goodachari 2 in Hyderabad on Monday evening. According to his PR team, the 45-year-old actor suffered a deep cut below his right jaw during the sequence. The injury occurred on the set while Hashmi was performing an action stunt for the film, which is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 Telugu hit Goodachari.
Goodachari 2 is directed by Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi and stars Hashmi alongside South star Adivi Sesh. The film, which is part of an expanding spy franchise, is set to release in multiple languages, marking a significant collaboration between Bollywood and the Telugu film industry.
Hashmi, known for his roles in films like Murder, Jannat, has built a reputation for taking on diverse characters and pushing the envelope in Indian cinema. Despite this injury, there has been no confirmation on whether it will impact the shooting schedule, though Hashmi’s PR team in Mumbai has assured fans that he is recovering well.
The actor has spent over two decades in the film industry, starting with his debut in Footpath in 2003. Over the years, Hashmi has gained a loyal fan base with hits like Aashiq Banaya Aapne , Gangster, and Raaz: The Mystery Continues. His nuanced performances in Murder 2 further cemented his place as one of Bollywood’s most versatile actors.
Currently, the actor is also starring in Tiger 3 alongside Salman Khan, adding to his lineup of high-profile projects. Goodachari 2, however, will be his first foray into the Telugu industry. The film’s predecessor, Goodachari, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, was well-received for its gripping narrative, making the sequel one of the most anticipated action films of the year.
