The NEXA experience finds its true expression in the indelible mark left by the designers, at the Lakme Fashion Week. This season, our partnership with the highly acclaimed duo, Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna was an ode to the NEXA design philosophy and lifestyle experience.
Commenting on their association and collection, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna said, “We have been associated with NEXA for several years and absolutely loved it. We are thrilled to return this season with innovation and creativity at its best. It has been an exciting experience to work with NEXA as we share similar design sensibilities. It’s always fun to create a collection for them, as they give us creative freedom, and we yet again are looking forward to establishing our dynamic synergy with this effective collaboration.”
Stopping the show was the very lovely, elegant Disha Patani who looked stunning in a gunmetal long-sleeved, plunged ‘V’ neck, high slit slinky gown.
Keeping her company on the ramp was the very debonair Ayushman Khorana in a black double-breasted, one-button, knee-length coat with embroidered sleeve and shoulder interest, teamed with a buttoned-down collar shirt and slim pants.
Creating a grand sartorial balance, the NEXA colours of black and white with tones of grey, platinum and Gunmetal formed the basis of the line along with the statement-making signature NEXA Blue. Always ensuring that the fabric choice was lush and opulent there were plush satins, frosty silks, sheer tulles and suiting organzas that brought grandeur to the ensembles.
The crystalline hues were further enhanced with an intricate lavish splash of pearlescent beaded elements, which simultaneously revealed touches of minimalism. The metallic indications were apparent for the graceful silhouettes that came alive with hints of luminous touches and a blend of shadow features.
Geometric patterns made a strong impact as beading brought luxurious embellishments, which projected the linear angles that were seamless, combined to match the intricacies of design by NEXA.
Swirling, fluid silhouettes made a fashion statement with sheer fabrics, transparent sequins, crystals and fringe detailing. The opulent lustre and metallic hues of the creations came in perfect harmony on the ramp. Flamboyant ruffled sleeves added to the glam quotient of the ensemble while heavily embroidered creations glittered under the ramp lights.
Women’s wear was a study in extravagant glamour with fringes as the prime detail for the ensembles. Angular asymmetry was seen for dresses, gowns, wrap slim skirts, halters, high slit dresses, plunged neckline fringed mini sheaths and one-shoulder dolman sleeved mini. The coat- dress sheath, shorts with wrap sheer mini, the one-shouldered ombré gown with embroidered bodice, revealed ultra-glam extravaganza.
Men’s wear featured jackets with discreet shimmer and some innovative construction. Corded jackets with kurtas, waistcoats, jumpsuits with extended shoulders, a short one- lapel jacket, and longline jackets were unconventional. The faux waistcoat and tuxedo style version was followed by one-button, layered jackets and double-lapel ones with large welt pockets.
When men and women who long for a memorable entry at international soirées, the “Interstellar” collection by Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna inspired by the NEXA aesthetics will make a lasting impression.
