After the success of Crew in 2024, starring Kareena Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Tabu, buzz is growing about a possible sequel. Produced by Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, Crew was well-received by both critics and audiences, making it a strong contender for a franchise. According to reports, the makers have been brainstorming ideas and are now considering moving ahead with Crew 2.
A source close to the project told Pinkvilla that Kareena Kapoor is expected to return for the sequel, while casting for the other lead roles is yet to be finalised. “Kareena is interested in Crew 2 and is waiting to review the full screenplay before committing,” the source said. The team expressed excitement about developing Crew into a franchise, but emphasised that plans are still in the early stages.
At present, it remains uncertain if Kriti Sanon and Tabu will reprise their roles. Reports suggest the makers are exploring the idea of bringing in a new set of three leading actresses to add freshness to the sequel. “The current plan is to make Crew 2 with three A-list actresses,” the source shared, “and Kareena’s return is confirmed.”
Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor is busy shooting Dayra with Meghna Gulzar and is in talks for other projects, though details remain under wraps. There is also speculation about a sequel to Veere Di Wedding, the 2018 hit featuring Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker, Shikha Talsania, and Kareena Kapoor, which could reunite the original team.
With Kareena’s return almost confirmed and the makers hinting at big plans, fans are eagerly waiting to see if Crew 2 will take off and become another blockbuster franchise.
