Through the Deverakonda Charitable Trust, Vijay revealed a scholarship scheme that will benefit students studying in Class 9 and 10 across 44 government schools in the Achampet division of Nagarkurnool district in Telangana. The initiative is designed to encourage meritorious students by ensuring that financial challenges do not stand in the way of their education.
The announcement came shortly after Vijay married actor Rashmika Mandanna on February 26. The couple, who recently tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Udaipur, are also preparing to host a grand wedding reception in Hyderabad on March 4.
On Monday, the newly married couple participated in traditional rituals at their new home in Vijay’s ancestral village of Thummanpeta in Telangana. The ceremonies included a grihapravesham (house-entering ritual) followed by the Satyanarayana Vratam puja, marking an auspicious beginning to their married life.
Following the rituals, Vijay addressed the gathering and shared details about the scholarship programme. He was joined on stage by his parents, his brother and Rashmika during the announcement. The moment drew enthusiastic cheers from villagers who had gathered to witness the occasion, and a video of the announcement quickly began circulating widely on social media.
