As the trailer for Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari drops, actor Varun Dhawan is opening up about a topic that has sparked debate in Bollywood—rising entourage costs on film sets. Speaking at the trailer launch, Varun emphasized that actors shouldn’t shoulder all the blame and that producers also need to foster a supportive, family-like environment.

Varun shared that when working with Dharma Productions, he feels a personal connection to the project. “It feels like my own film,” he said, praising the production house for taking care of actors. He also revealed that his entourage usually consists of four people and, following advice from his father David Dhawan, he avoids including managers on set to respect the producers’ space and resources.

Commenting on the wider industry trend, Varun noted the financial pressures faced by producers today, saying, “OTT and satellite prices fluctuate. Producers take the biggest risk. In my childhood, I saw friends lose houses over films. Making a movie is a collective effort, not just an actor’s responsibility.” He added that while some actors may appear arrogant, the real solution is for producers to create a collaborative, respectful set environment.

The discussion comes amid recent remarks from filmmaker Sanjay Gupta about certain actors requesting multiple vanity vans—sometimes up to six or even eleven, including separate vans for kitchens. Previous discussions by Rakesh Roshan and Farah Khan have also highlighted how growing entourage costs inflate budgets and put extra pressure on producers.

Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari is produced by Dharma Productions and Mentor Disciple Entertainment. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sanya Malhotra, and Rohit Saraf, with Maniesh Paul and Akshay Oberoi in supporting roles. The movie is set to hit theatres on October 2, promising a mix of fun, drama, and family dynamics.

Varun’s candid take reminds the industry and fans alike that filmmaking is a team effort—one where actors, producers, and crew all play a crucial role in bringing a story to life.
