Grammy and Academy Award-winning singer-composer A. R. Rahman has added yet another feather to his cap. The globally renowned musician has turned writer-producer with his movie 99 Songs.
The trailer of the movie was released recently which has received an enthusiastic response from fans and audiences alike. Adding to the anticipation, in an era of remixes and recreations in Bollywood, Rahman is bringing 15 original tracks with his musical romance. With a glut of remixes in almost every new film album, 99 Songs comes as a breath of fresh air with entirely original creations.
Talking about the same, A. R. Rahman shares at the recent launch of the track Jwalamukhi from the film album, “I think this film is coming at the right time. With so many remixes being the norm these days, I’m looking forward to seeing audiences’ reception to the original compositions. 99 Songs have 15 original tracks in the album; I am eager to see how well they receive it. Audience support and encouragement will motivate us to make even more beautiful music and movies.”
Each of the 15 compositions, including the soul-stirring song Jwalamukhi in Arijit Singh’s voice, possess the magic of A. R. Rahman’s genius and are a gift for true music lovers.
The movie is directed by debutant director Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and will release in three languages, including Hindi, Tamil & Telugu. 99 Songs will also introduce to Bollywood a fresh new face, Ehan Bhat.
Presented by Jio Studios, the film is produced by A. R. Rahman’s production company YM Movies and co-produced by Ideal Entertainment.
