Actor Rakul Preet Singh has chosen humour over outrage while responding to the ongoing chatter around her marriage with Jackky Bhagnani. Instead of issuing clarifications, the actress addressed the viral “situationship” remark with a lighthearted social media moment that quickly caught fans’ attention.
The conversation began when Jackky, during a podcast appearance, casually described their relationship as a “situationship,” intending to highlight its relaxed, friendship-first dynamic. However, the term — often associated with undefined modern relationships — was taken out of context and amplified into speculative headlines about their marriage.
Rather than letting the narrative spiral, Rakul flipped the script with a witty Instagram story. In the video, she jokingly calls out Jackky for using Gen-Z terminology, saying she has repeatedly reminded him that they are millennials and don’t need to “act Gen-Z.” The camera then shifts to Jackky, who is seen apologising playfully, adding to the couple’s candid and easy chemistry.
Rakul further quips that since the internet refuses to let go of the topic, they might as well join in and laugh about it. The tone of the video made it clear that the couple is unbothered by the noise and comfortable enough to turn the moment into humour.
This isn’t the first time Rakul has addressed the issue. Earlier, she had criticised the tendency to strip conversations of context in favour of sensationalism, underlining that nuanced remarks are often misrepresented for clicks.
Having tied the knot in 2024 after years of dating, Rakul and Jackky have consistently described their relationship as one built on trust, independence, and mutual respect — something their recent playful exchange only reinforces.
