In a recent podcast with Ranveer Allahabadia, Rakul Preet Singh candidly discussed a challenging period in her career. The actor revealed that she was initially cast in Neeraj Pandey’s biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. However, due to a scheduling conflict, she was replaced by Disha Patani.
Rakul explained that the film’s shooting schedule had been delayed by a month, which created a clash with her commitments to films featuring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, which she had already signed on for. She expressed regret over missing out on the role, saying, “I had completed the costume fittings and script readings for the role, but the shift in the shooting schedule conflicted with my prior engagements. At that time, I was working on Bruce Lee: The Fighter, which was about to release, and there were still two songs left to shoot. Unfortunately, I couldn’t adjust my dates, and I felt devastated for missing such a significant opportunity.”
MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, which starred the late Sushant Singh Rajput as the iconic cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni, portrayed his journey from a young cricketer to leading India to a World Cup victory.
More recently, Rakul was seen in the action-drama Indian 2 alongside Kamal Haasan and Siddharth. Her Bollywood journey began with Divya Khosla Kumar’s Yaariyan, where she starred opposite Himansh Kohli. Over the years, she has appeared in various Hindi films, including Aiyaary, De De Pyaar De, Shimla Mirchi, Attack, Runway 34, Cuttputlli, Doctor G, Thank God, Chhatriwali, and I Love You.
