The festive season is here and so is Diwali, and the preparations are already under the way for many. The scrumptious sweet dishes made particularly for the occasion are an important element of the Diwali celebration.
Dry Fruits Laddoo is a simple, yet nutritious energy ball dish that is healthy and delicious giving you the best of both worlds. This dry fruit laddoo dish contains no additional sugar, jaggery, ghee, or oil and is inherently vegan, and takes less than 20 minutes to prepare. These energy balls are prepared with dates, figs, and assorted nuts that are high in nutrients, healthy fats, and fiber.
Ingredients: 3 tablespoons of Happilo 100% Natural Premium Californian Almonds, 8 Happilo Premium Dried Afghani Anjeer (Figs), 1 cup chopped Happilo Premium Arabian Dates, 2 green cardamom pods, 2 tablespoons Happilo Premium Seedless Afghani Black Raisins, 2 tablespoons Happilo 100% Premium Whole Cashew nuts, 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Start by roasting 3 tablespoons of almonds in a pan over low heat. At regular intervals, stir the almonds. The almonds can also be gently roasted. Roast them to perfection and then set the roasted almonds aside.
Step 2: Roughly chop 8 dried figs and several dates. You will need 1 cup of chopped dates, so measure them out and set them aside. Then take 2 green cardamom pods, crush them to a coarse powder in a mortar pestle and remove the peels and throw them away.
Step 3: Combine 1 cup chopped dates, figs, 2 tablespoons raisins, 2 tablespoons cashews, 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut, and finely powdered cardamom powder in a blender or mixer-grinder. Also, add the roasted almonds. When crushing the roasted almonds, it is okay if they are warm. To make a coarse mixture, grind to a coarse consistency and distribute on a tray or plate, or place the mixture in a bowl. Next, on a whiteboard, coarsely grind a variety of nuts and dried fruits of your choice.
Step 4: Using your hands, form tiny balls, and the dried fruit laddoos are ready.
Step 5: Serve the dry fruit laddoos right away or keep them refrigerated in an airtight container.
The dry fruits laddoos can be stored at room temperature for a few days or in the refrigerator for a few weeks. You may also prepare a large batch and store the energy balls in the refrigerator for a few weeks or freeze them for a few months.
