In his post on X, the actor wrote, “Auspicious beginnings as I step into the second chapter of Dhootha and my first step as a producer. Onwards and upwards. Here’s to the magic ahead.”
The pictures from the launch ceremony show Chaitanya posing with a clapperboard. Dressed in a white shirt paired with blue denims, the actor appeared in high spirits as filming officially got underway. Several other photographs also featured actress Parvathy Thiruvothu, who reprises her role in the upcoming season.
Directed by Vikram Kumar, Dhootha follows the story of Sagar Varma Avuduri, an investigative journalist whose life takes a terrifying turn after he comes across a mysterious newspaper that seemingly predicts future deaths. The chilling events begin with the death of his pet dog and gradually unravel into a larger mystery involving journalists, their families and a sinister supernatural force.
As Sagar investigates the strange occurrences, he discovers a disturbing pattern linking a series of gruesome deaths, leading him deeper into a conspiracy that blurs the line between reality and the supernatural.
The first season of Dhootha, which premiered in 2023, marked Naga Chaitanya’s OTT debut and received praise for its gripping narrative and atmospheric storytelling. The second season is expected to continue exploring the dark mysteries established in the first chapter.
Apart from Chaitanya and Parvathy, the upcoming season will also feature Priya Bhavani Shankar in a key role.
Meanwhile, on the film front, Naga Chaitanya is gearing up for his next big-screen outing, Vrushakarma, directed by Karthik Varma Dandu. The film also stars Meenakshi Chaudhary, Sparsh Shrivastava and Jayaram in prominent roles.
