Review: As the lockdown began we all are getting stuck in our own house. The
pandemic has left us with no choice but to accept this critical condition.
However, it is so very true that in this period, boredom can possessed us
in every way. But, how can you feel to do so in a world of great web series
and originals. Every week we get entertained with a new series to binge
watched on OTT platform. Zee5 is no exception at all as they recently
dropped the second season of REJCTX.
Having watched the first and the second season you may take a trip down
memory lane of your high school days. The season 2 of REJCTX be on the road to recovery from where it refrained
from the first season. In first season, we found that Aarav shoot his
father, he was injured and no one was killed in this incident. But Aarav
Sharma aka Ahmed Masi Wali was the prime suspect for the mysterious strange
death of Anushka Rao aka Kubbra Sait case history.
Aarav starts his new semester as a fresh. In this semester he fall in love,
with Kiara. In the meantime Officer Rene aka Esha Gupta came to the screen.
She is investigating officer of Anushka’s death case. Eventually Rene come
across a knowledge that Aarav and Anushka having an affair. Officer Rene
was found Aarav responsible for many other fishy matter in school. At the
same time as Aarav avoiding the cops. Even he also finds himself and his
friends blackmailed by a mysterious nameless Mr. X, whose motives remain in
doubt and ill defined.
While watching the show you could get familiar with some of its elements to
the other international hit shows or movies, which was nicely handled by
the director Goldie Behl whether in terms of peppy background score or a
mixture of love, sex and betrayal. If you want yourself to be hooked to the
series you have to wait till the 5th episode. The first season was tell around various topics like illicit
teacher-student relationship, bullying, kidnapping and several other
matters. But this sequel brings us to small ray of hope when we found two
big name in cast, i.e. Esha Gupta and Tanvi Shinde. Esha Gupta as a cop who
is misjudge by his fellow mates for being an Indian. She was mainly
introduced to solve the case history of Anushka Rao murder, but later on
that part remain unfold. Which is nothing but a lack of awareness.
On the other hand Tanvi Shinde as Yesha was not promising, she never fits
in the group of REJCTX . But her chemistry with Maddy aka Ayush Khurana is
so remarkable. While Aarav finds a doppleganger, an aged Jackie who is
less appealing janitor in jefferson school was a bolt from the blue for
everyone.
Jackie’s admiration over Aarav was quiet commendable. This character was
designed to be the key factor for the show but it actually failed to do so.
The story seemed to be gripping some points but at the same time it has
several error in its plots. While watching the show numerous questions
popped up in audiences’ mind like what happened and why? Well, the series
does not give you the chance to clarify your thoughts.
In one episode the director beautifully narrated the tale about teenagers.
We found that Parno and Harry starts off as a prank platform Bitchboard
which become online platform for bullying other students.
One moment Parno and Harry realizes about their work and even shocked to
see what exact situation happen when someone bullying by others. In this
season we realize how one dark incidents from teenage can carry on and
haunted us later in our life too.
REJCTX 2 is filled with exemplification of love and respect. While we saw
Misha confronts Sehmet about her feelings for her. After Misha saves Sehmat
from being molested they realize their love for each other. On the other
hand, Maddy hold out against Yesha’s feelings, but finally they make love.
In terms of acting only Ahmed Masi Wali and Anisha Victor can grab your attention for sure. But others just looking like props. They need to be groom in the prospect of acting.
On the other hand the well being actor Summet Vyas was nothing much to do due to the poor script. His role as an anxiety-ridden vice principal was not understandable at all.
Like season one the makers of the show added a new name to the franchise from B-Town just to carry forward the show vigorously, i.e. Esha Gupta as Cop Rene. Her character was targeting the REJCTX members for get away with their mistakes by influences of their parents. Esha’s role as a cop as good as it can be. The cinematography and music is by far the most and only high point for the series. There were so many good things happened as per in this regards.
The makers thought of this sequel as an atonement for mistakes of its prequel. Moreover it is for those who wants to find some hot, spicy stuff in a cutting edge thriller. Last but not the least, though it has all the negativity and poor execution, it’s a onetime watch.
