Priyanka Chopra’s much-awaited return to Indian cinema has finally been unveiled — and it’s every bit as powerful as fans hoped. SS Rajamouli revealed the first look of the actress from his upcoming epic Globetrotter, sending social media into a frenzy of excitement and admiration.

Earlier, the makers had unveiled Prithviraj Sukumaran’s first look as Kumbha, the film’s antagonist. The actor appears in a formidable new avatar, seated in an automated wheelchair. Sharing the poster on X, he wrote, “Presenting KUMBHA… the most complex mind I have ever played. Ready for you @urstrulymahesh 🔥 It’s game on @priyankachopra. Thank you @ssrajamouli sir for crafting a world that constantly tests my limits.”
Tentatively titled Globetrotter (also known as SSMB29), the film marks Rajamouli’s next grand venture following the phenomenal success of RRR. With an estimated budget of $116 million, it stands as one of India’s most ambitious projects to date. Filming began in Hyderabad earlier this year, followed by extensive shoots in Odisha and multiple African locations.
Priyanka’s fierce look as Mandakini has drawn comparisons to the iconic video game heroine Lara Croft, with fans dubbing her the “Indian Tomb Raider.” Social media buzzed with reactions as users gushed over her powerful sari-clad action avatar.
The film also stars Mahesh Babu in his first collaboration with Rajamouli. Speaking about her experience, Priyanka described working with the duo as “life-changing.”
The film’s official title is set to be revealed at a grand event on November 15 at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad, and Globetrotter is expected to release globally in March 2027.
Priyanka was last seen in Prime Video’s Heads of State alongside John Cena and Idris Elba. With Globetrotter, she not only marks her much-anticipated homecoming but also reminds audiences worldwide why she remains one of India’s most formidable global icons.
