In a recent live interaction for the Heart to Heart series launched by the Art of Living, Sonakshi opens up about how the Ramayan Controversy on KBC 11 and the trolls following it, affected her mentally.
Even after 5 months of the incident, she is still being trolled and the negativity is affecting her. Sri Sri’s advice to her was to not take incidents like this too seriously and refrain from reacting, ‘If we do one mistake people tend to hold on to that mistake’ Sri Sri explained.
The Heart to Heart Series intends to collaborate with creative artists to discuss life, relationships, inclusiveness, belonging, family, love, success, health and mental well-being, stress, loss, spirituality, hope and courage in the difficult times to the anxious moments during the ongoing pandemic.
Sonakshi says, “I participated with the contestant Uma devi who is an artisan. We got a question on Ramayan “Sanjeevani Bhooti ko Hanuman ji kisjke liye lekhar gaya tha?” We both blanked out and was just not able to answer it. And after that, the incident was not so bad in itself but it was embarrassing because it is something we’ve have learned as kids. It’s been a while so certain details just go out of my mind. It’s been 5-6 months since that, but the kind of negativity and trolling I get for that one mistake I made is disheartening, as in why are people so unforgiving. It was an honest mistake.”
In 2019, during an episode in Kaun Banega Crorepati Sonakshi faced an awkward, embarrassing situation while she was asked by Big B that Hanuman brought the Sanjeevani herb for whom. She used a lifeline, Big B schooled her for not knowing the answer. Whereas her bungalow named “Ramayana”, her father’s name after one of the brothers of Lord Rama and even her brothers are called Luv and Kush. For this reason, the audience was mercilessly trolled Sonakshi for her an unintentional blunder.
“Ramayana was all about Lord Rama was teaching to everyone how to be a better human being, better father, husband and without taking that learning from Lord Rama people attack me,” added Sonakshi and saying that she does not need to pay attention to them.
