Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden death has sparked the debate on nepotism. His death lit up the topic of Nepotism on fire once again. Many stars of Bollywood stepped forward and raised their voice against it on social media. From Kangana Ranaut to Vivek Oberoi, Raveena Tandon, many others are claiming that Sushant wasn’t properly appreciated for his work in Bollywood. On the other hand, many should feel that this topic must end and one should be welcomed for their pure talent not by some lobby or that kind of thing.
Aritra Das, an Independent young Bollywood producer expressed his grief over Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise. He shares, “It’s very hard to express someone’s death when that death is at a young age. As, we all know that he has committed suicide, but we have no clue about the reason behind this pathetic incident. The saddest part is, maybe we will never get to know the real reason for this.”
Talking about the current scenario of Bollywood or Nepotism, he says, “I don’t think this will make any sense! Karan Johar is running the business and it’s completely his prerogative who he wants to cast. Nepotism is bad, and more than Karan Johar, I think people who are sucking up to him should be blamed. The people who are shouting out his name on social media are the ones who wait for a call from Karan Johar. They all want to work under Dharma, YRF and Balaji Films. If you ask me honestly, if tomorrow Karan Johar wants to collaborate with Assorted Motion Pictures I will definitely see that as a good business proposal.”
He further added, “Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely death is shocking, but you can’t blame Karan Johar for that! If he is favouring an actor then that is his choice or business prerogative. Even Sushant Singh Rajput rejected many scripts, so if a director and producer commit suicide will you blame the actor for that?
Why people didn’t invite him to parties is very lame point. He would party with his own set of friends and often shared pictures on instagram. If Karan is throwing a house party, he will decide who he wants to invite. He worked with him in Drive which was released on Netflix. Now people are saying deliberately he made a bad film to sabotage Sushant’s career. Tell me one thing, Kalank was a bigger disaster which featured his favourite Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. So he wanted to sabotage their career also?
I mean if you are accusing then place some sort of logic also. You can’t say, Oh he laughed at him on Koffee With Karan. The pattern of the show is bitchy and gossipy. So you can’t expect him to act like Sadguru in that show.”
While digging up the monstrous OTT platforms, hall owners and others, he explains, “I have issues with organisations like Netflix who are bigger monsters. They are sucking up to Karan Johar and others. They have all excuses to reject our work but they are willing to buy mediocre work from Dharma.
That needs to stop. Ask why halls owners gave more shows to YRF’s War and one or two shows to Sushant Singh’s Sonchiriya?
If you want to address the issue ask the right person so that another Sushant Singh Rajput incident doesn’t happen.”
