Designers Shyamal and Bhumika have present their collection titled ‘The Renaissance Muse’ at India Couture Week. Actress Kriti Sanon walked in the ramp as the showstopper of this show.
Their collection is inspired by the iconic period of renaissance. It comprises of timeless bridal couture, exquisite men’s sherwani jackets, bias skirts with sensuous cholees, shararas, kalidaar paneled lehengas, trendy shoulder-baring blouses, structured jackets, saris in sheer organzas, asymmetric hemlines, signature cowl dresses, trailing kalidaars, exquisitely crafted veils, peplum tops, poet sleeves, georgettes & translucent tulle and fun details for brides and grooms for a perfect romantic feel on their D-day. Shyamal & Bhumika menswear is designed in understated handwoven tussars, matkas and moonga variety of silks making it unconventionally elegant.

Our collection signifies a wonderful connection between conventional and present-day India.”

Shyamal & Bhumika couture is a constant evolution of traditional embroidery techniques using unique materials and fine detailing season after season. For the Renaissance Muse collection, Shyamal and Bhumika have collaborated with Jewels of Jaipur. Noor Jahan is an epitome of beauty and grace. A visionary ruler of the patron of art and an exceptional jewellery designer- She was a woman ahead of her time. The queen’s life story inspired Jewels of Jaipur to create an intricately designed bridal jewellery collection, Annora showcased on the runway with Shyamal & Bhumika’s Couture Collection. The collection consists of precious stones like emerald, sapphires and rubies with Polki jewellery made in 18kt yellow gold.
The designers have used the most colourful silk threads in delicate embroideries that adorn lustrous silks while making a slight departure from the traditional fashion. Shyamal & Bhumika signature cutwork edging and painterly florals signify the couple’s beautiful love story. The interesting use of colour has a blend of traditional Indian tones along with unusual vintage tones inspired by the ceiling frescos of the 15-17th centuries. To create an interesting variety of cut and colour, the collection has a wide range of jewel tones, vintage pastels, Indian reds, wine, blush pinks, watermelon, mood grey, powder blue, navy, muted olive, dusty mint, fennel green, emerald, almond beige and vintage cream.
