adidas originals presents eco-conscious footwear collection at FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week

by Team Expresso

adidas Originals, the pioneering sportswear brand for the streets, will preview its upcoming eco-conscious footwear collection in a power-packed showcase with new-age designer labels – Antar Agni by Ujjawal Dubey and Khanijo by Gaurav Khanijo on day 2, ‘Sustainable Fashion Day’ at FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week.

Sunil Gupta, Senior Director, Brand adidas, India said“We are pleased to be partnering with FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week to preview one of our most progressive, eco-conscious footwear collections on Sustainable Fashion Day. The physical format of fashion week is back after two years and what better way to celebrate and experience fashion than by partnering with two remarkable designers, Antar-Agni & Khanijo. We are looking forward to an exciting and powerful showcase where effortless style meets innovative sustainability.”

Staying true to their design aesthetics, Antar Agni and Khanijo will present collections that represent change and the ongoing performance that is life. Inspired by the circus, Khanijo’s collection will be a metaphor for the never-ending show, presented through a mish mash of handlooms, indigenous embroideries, artisanal textiles into handcrafted pieces celebrating Indian craftsmanship in an artful streetwear collection. On the other hand, Antar Agni’s showcase is set to present a new expression of the brand’s design aesthetic through graphic prints and bold colours complementing the layers and silhouettes, brought together in a story of the paradoxes of minimalism and maximalism.

Ujjawal Dubey, the founder of Antar Agni, says “We are thrilled to share the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week platform with adidas and participate in a physical fashion week after two years of being completely digital. With our new collection we embark into an unexplored land of evolution. This collection showcases bold juxtapositions with a sense of tremendous change. We are also very excited with the use of colour play and hope to bring in a new language to Antar Agni that people can resonate with.”

Gaurav Khanijo of Khanijo, says “I and my entire team are thrilled, as we are coming back after two years to the ramp as we have known it and we couldn’t have asked for a more wholesome collaboration than Adidas, coming from the same school of thoughts and shared ethos. With our upcoming collection, we are bringing a circus which celebrates diversity, inclusivity and co-existence. With a cocktail of hand-woven textiles worked from nooks and corners of the country, indigenous embroideries, natural dyes and old school hand done finishes, we are coming with Cirque du Soul – A circus straight from Khanijo’s soul. We are grateful and cannot wait to see our ideas come alive at the FDCI X Lakme Fashion week.”
