After months of speculation, production delays, and shifting schedules, the much-anticipated Don 3 is finally ready to roll. Sources close to the production have confirmed that the film will go on floors in September 2025, with Ranveer Singh reprising the iconic titular role and Vikrant Massey playing the antagonist. The project, helmed by Farhan Akhtar, is all set to deliver a stylized, action-packed cinematic experience that fans of the franchise have eagerly been waiting for.

Delays and Commitments: A Brief Timeline

Earlier reports by Filmfare suggested that Don 3 faced a significant delay owing to scheduling conflicts. Ranveer Singh was tied up with the intense filming of Dhurandhar, which is reportedly only halfway through its production. Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar had been immersed in the shoot of his upcoming action-war drama, 120 Bahadur.

However, according to a new update by News18 Showsha, the delays are finally behind the team. “Farhan is nearing the end of 120 Bahadur. Ranveer has also finished shooting for a major portion of Dhurandhar. And so, they wouldn’t want to wait any longer before beginning filming for Don 3,” the source stated.

What to Expect: Action, Style, and Familiar Chemistry

The first schedule of Don 3 is slated to begin in September, with both Ranveer and Vikrant participating in the opening shoot. Known for their previous collaborations in Lootera and Dil Dhadakne Do, this film marks the third on-screen pairing between the two powerhouses of performance.

Fans can expect high-octane action sequences, with stylish bike chases and intense confrontations promised between the hero and the villain. Given the franchise’s legacy of slick visuals and gripping narratives, Don 3 aims to push the envelope even further under Farhan Akhtar’s direction.

Sharvari to Join the Cast?

On the casting front, the female lead has seen some changes. Initially, Kiara Advani was reported to have signed on for the project, but she had to opt out due to her pregnancy. Speculations have been rife about who would step into the role, and according to reliable sources, Sharvari Wagh has likely signed on as the new leading lady. While an official announcement is still awaited, it’s believed that she will begin filming later this year.

A Surprise Cameo?

In a twist that has piqued fan curiosity, insiders also hint at a potential cameo by Shah Rukh Khan, who famously played the lead in the previous two installments of the Don series. While there has been no formal confirmation, the possibility of SRK returning — even for a brief appearance — has added to the mounting excitement surrounding the film.

Backed by a stellar cast, a director known for redefining action in Bollywood, and a legacy that spans decades, the film promises to raise the bar for the action-thriller genre.
