Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 has taken a legal turn. Fresh developments concern his reported disagreement with Excel Entertainment.
The reporters linked the actor to the highly anticipated project earlier. However, reports claimed that he stepped away from Don 3 just weeks before the scheduled start of filming.
The development reportedly caused financial and logistical complications for the production house. According to earlier reports, Ranveer agreed to return his signing amount, said to be around Rs 10 crore, as compensation for the losses caused by the change in plans. He offered the producers a share in his next project.
New details have now emerged regarding the dispute. According to a report by Mid-Day, a member of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA), speaking anonymously, claimed that Ranveer’s team sent a letter to the association challenging the nature of the agreement with Excel Entertainment.
The letter reportedly stated that the arrangement between the actor and the production company was a Memorandum of Understanding rather than a legally binding contract. Ranveer’s legal team also allegedly asked IMPPA to withdraw its complaint and leave the matter to the courts.
Following the development, a meeting scheduled for August 14 was reportedly postponed.
At a subsequent meeting on August 18, Ranveer’s legal representatives allegedly submitted another letter. According to the report, the letter stated that Excel Entertainment’s Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani were free to pursue the matter legally if they wished to do so.
The legal team also reportedly warned of action if further complaints were made before IMPPA.
The dispute comes after a highly successful phase in Ranveer’s career. His recent films Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge reportedly delivered massive box-office numbers and further strengthened his position as a leading Bollywood star.
While the actor’s professional future remains busy, the dispute surrounding Don 3 continues to unfold. Neither Ranveer Singh nor Excel Entertainment has publicly offered a detailed statement on the latest developments.
For now, the matter appears to be heading towards a legal resolution, with both sides maintaining their respective positions.
