Ajay Devgn’s much-anticipated return as Bajirao Singham in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again has proven to be a major hit at the box office, continuing the legacy of the iconic cop series. In a recent interview with ANI, Devgn reflected on the overwhelming response from fans, emphasizing how the film represents a commitment to portraying police officers as they ideally should be.
The veteran actor shared, “I’m grateful to audiences for their support. For years, cinema often showed police in a darker light, but Singham and Gangaajal were among the early films to break that mold. Now, it’s become a trend to highlight positive portrayals of law enforcement.”
This latest installment not only brings back familiar faces but also features Arjun Kapoor in a darker role as the main antagonist, Danger Lanka. Devgn praised Kapoor’s work, noting how he has finally received the recognition he deserves. “Many doubted Arjun in the past, but he has proven his talent with this role,” Devgn said. He added that the success of Singham Again has come at the perfect time in Kapoor’s career, putting previous criticisms to rest.
As the third chapter in Shetty’s cop universe, which began with Singham in 2011, Singham Again brings back Devgn as the fearless Bajirao Singham and introduces a star-studded ensemble. Familiar faces like Ranveer Singh as Simmba and Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi return to the screen, and new characters, such as Deepika Padukone’s Shakti Shetty and Tiger Shroff’s Satya Bali, add fresh dynamics to the story. Kareena Kapoor Khan reprises her role as Avni, while Salman Khan makes a special appearance as his iconic character, Chulbul Pandey, from the Dabangg series.
Taking inspiration from the Ramayana, Shetty has creatively woven mythological elements into the plot, adding a unique twist to the storyline. Released on November 1, Singham Again continues to draw crowds, cementing Shetty’s reputation as a master of the action-packed cop universe.
