Alia Bhatt Condemns Circulation of Private Home Video, Calls It a Breach of Privacy

Spanning six floors and reportedly priced at ₹250 crore, the residence is nothing short of grand. Yet Alia has strongly objected to its images being circulated without consent.

A viral video featuring the interiors of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s under-construction bungalow has sparked major outrage, with the actress herself stepping in to call out the breach. The clip, which surfaced online without the family’s knowledge, offered glimpses into the couple’s luxury residence — but instead of admiration, it raised serious questions about the violation of celebrity privacy.

Taking to Instagram, Alia penned a detailed note, addressing both individuals and media houses who circulated the footage. “I understand that in a city like Mumbai, space is limited and sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But that does not give anyone the right to film private residences and push those videos online. A video of our home still under construction has been recorded and circulated by multiple publications, without our knowledge or consent. This is a clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue,” she wrote.

She went on to stress that filming someone’s personal space cannot be considered “content.” “It should never be normalized. Think about it: would you tolerate videos of the inside of your home being shared publicly, without you knowing? None of us would. So, here’s a humble but firm request — if you come across such content online, please don’t forward it or share it further. And to our friends in the media who have carried these images and videos: I urge you to take them down immediately,” Alia added.

Sources suggest the sprawling six-floor home comes with an eye-watering price tag of nearly ₹250 crore. The leaked visuals showcased lush balconies draped in greenery and opulent chandeliers, reflecting a blend of grandeur and warmth — ironically, the very details the family hoped to keep private until they moved in.

According to reports, the interiors are nearly complete, and Alia and Ranbir are expected to shift into their new home before Diwali. The timing will be even more special as they plan to celebrate their daughter Raha’s third birthday on November 8 in the new residence.

On the professional front, Alia is gearing up for YRF’s Alpha and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-anticipated Love and War, where she will share the screen with Ranbir Kapoor.
