As Bhooth Bangla continues to generate buzz, conversations around its cast have taken centre stage—particularly the growing comparisons between Wamiqa Gabbi and some of Bollywood’s most celebrated actresses. Addressing the chatter, Akshay Kumar has weighed in with a balanced perspective, acknowledging the similarities while firmly backing his co-star’s individuality.

In recent days, social media has been flooded with comments comparing Wamiqa’s screen presence to that of Aishwarya Rai, largely due to her expressive eyes. At the same time, her on-screen chemistry with Akshay Kumar has reminded many viewers of his past pairings with Katrina Kaif, prompting further discussion among fans.

Responding to these comparisons, Akshay noted that while Wamiqa’s features may remind audiences of Aishwarya, she brings her own distinct identity to the table. He highlighted her journey in the industry, pointing out that she has carved her path through consistent work across multiple film industries, including Punjabi, Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil cinema.

Wamiqa herself has taken the comparisons in stride, often responding with humour. When labelled by some as “Aishwarya’s daughter” due to her resemblance, the actress chose not to take offence. Instead, she addressed the buzz playfully, even joking about exaggerated claims surrounding her public image and dismissing speculation about any calculated PR strategy.

The conversation around her has only amplified interest in Bhooth Bangla, which marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan after several years. The horror-comedy, released on April 17, blends supernatural elements with humour and features a strong ensemble cast. Alongside Akshay and Wamiqa, the film stars Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar in key roles.

Backed by Balaji Telefilms, the film is produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor in association with Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, with screenplay contributions from Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair, and Priyadarshan. While comparisons are inevitable in an industry driven by legacy and star power, Akshay Kumar’s remarks underline a key point—Wamiqa Gabbi is being recognised not just for resemblance, but for her evolving body of work and growing presence across cinema.
