With back to back announcements and releases of original content, ZEE5 announces their latest film ‘Darbaan’, a heart-warming family drama that is about a friendship between a master and his caretaker.
The story brings these two generations together that is sure to strike a chord with the audience. The film is inspired and based on a story by Rabindranath Tagore.
Darbaan revolves around the story of an innocent friendship between the son of a rich coal miner(Anukool) and his caretaker(Raicharan). Eventually, as the kid grows up and gets married, he has his own son that is again taken care of by Raicharan. Darbaan will explore the bond that defies the social and economic gap between them. But, an incident changes both of their lives and puts an unfortunate crack in their relationship. It is a story that will not only test relationships but also the extent to which a man will go for redemption.
Rasika Duggal playing the role of caretaker’s wife expresses, “Darbaan is a moving film that bridges the social gap between rich and poor. Bipin has given a lot of attention to the details. The characters are interestingly layered and the film has a talented cast to bring them alive. I hope viewers enjoy the film, as it premieres on 4th December on ZEE5.”

Directed and produced by Bipin Nadkarni who will mark his debut as a director in Bollywood. Produced under the banner of Opticus Picture Company with Yogesh Beldar as a co-producer, ZEE5 Original Film ‘Darbaan’ premieres 4th December 2020.
