Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s Midas touch can make anything turn to gold. Be it her work with Bollywood or Hollywood, the global icon has built a huge fan following around the globe.
Her recent venture, Frozen 2 has welcomed the same destiny. The characters of Elsa and Anna from Disney hugely popular film franchise Frozen are some of the most loved characters in the film.
The film’s popularity rocketed the moment global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas associated herself to the franchise for lending her voice to Elsa’s character in the Hindi dub. And with Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s cousin sister Parineeti Chopra lending for the character of Anna, the onscreen magic only became epic.
After voicing the character of Ishani in the 2013 film ‘Planes’, the voice of Kaa in the Hindi version of ‘The Jungle Book’ in 2016, Frozen 2 would mark Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ third stint with Disney.
The humungous popularity of the film has now translated into great box office collections as Frozen 2 released in Indian theatres on November 22. While the first instalment of the film, which released in 2013 got 3.50 crore net lifetime in India, the second instalment has already crossed that mark on the first day itself.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas shares, “Elsa is a fictional character who’s known to be strongly-opinionated and level headed, traits that I deeply connect with. This not only made me want to be part of the film but also gives me a wonderful opportunity to present one of the most successful animated films to our local audiences. My happiness just goes up a notch knowing that Parineeti will be voicing Anna’s character. The two of us have never worked together before and this seems like a perfect movie to come together and an experience that I am going to cherish forever.”
Frozen 2 was released in odd 1300 screens in the country but already collected Rs 3.60 on the first day of the release. Despite releasing against a big Bollywood film, Frozen 2 collection jumped 100 per cent on the second-day collection and collected 7 crore net.
The total of two days collections has stopped at 10.60 crore net and is expected to collect 19-20 crore net over the next weekend.
