Paatal Lok: The tinsel town’s very own Anuskha Sharma shares a heart-warming with her furry baby – Dude and has been very vocal about her love for dogs and all animals. So obviously, when this mega star decided to create something for the first time with Amazon Prime Video, dogs were bound to play a significant role in it. Apart from being a complete entertainer, Paatal Lok’s story also gives significance to the four-legged character(s) with lots of plot twists and stories surrounding them. In fact, the antagonist’s deep-set affection for dogs gives the story a mind-bending twist. Especially in the end when the antagonist of the shows spares the life of the journalist because of the deep affection his dogs was something no one saw coming.
Marley & Me: If you love dog movies and have not seen Marley & Me, are you even a dog lover? Based on the book with the same name, this slice-of-life movie revolves around a newly wed couple who decide to adopt a dog- their ‘clearance puppy’ as Jennifer Aniston calls him, only to realize that their dog Marley is a lovable disaster. The movie though will leave you in tears in some scenes, but it will also make you fall in love and proves that humans aren’t the only creatures capable of empathy and love. Make sure that you hug your pooch as you watch this awful movie.
Penguin: This Tamil movie released during the lock-down on Amazon Prime Video garnered raving reviews by critics as well as the audience. The movie though sees the talented Keerthy Suresh in the lead, many say that it was the dog Cyrus in the movie who is the true hero. The movie is a unique tale of a pregnant lady and her dog who sets out on a dangerous and physically demanding journey to unravel a mystery from her past and save her beloved child
Hachi: A Dog’s Tale: Get your tissues out for this one! Hachi: A Dog’s Tale, is a heart-wrenchingly true story that has made viewers around the world cry their hearts out. The tale of Hachi, who was lost during his transit from Japan to the States found his true home with a professor who found him wandering as a pup on the train station. Such fierce is Hachi’s loyalty and love for his master, that even the latter’s death could not deter this dog from looking for him everyday, hoping that he would come back. Hachiko’s tale of looking for his master even after his death can make even the tough ones weep inconsolably. Based on a true story of an Akita dog named Hachiko and this movie is a remake of the 1987 Japanese film Hachiko Monogatari and guaranteed to leave you with a void in your heart and a smile on your face.
