Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated period drama Love & War has been in the spotlight since its announcement, with excitement mounting as new details about the shoot emerge. Slated for a 2026 release, the film features an impressive ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.
According to India Today, after completing portions in Mumbai, the production is set to move to Mhow, a cantonment town in Madhya Pradesh known for its military heritage dating back to the British era. Its vintage architecture and artillery settings make it an ideal choice for the film’s pre-independence backdrop. The unit is expected to shoot there for about two weeks, focusing on key scenes with Ranbir and Vicky, pending final location permissions.
Following the Madhya Pradesh schedule, the cast and crew will travel to Italy in October for the next phase of filming. While the team had aimed to wrap up by the end of 2025, reports indicate the schedule may extend due to delays.
Set against the backdrop of a fictional war, Love & War is described as an intense love story that weaves together themes of friendship, emotional bonds, and the sacrifices made for love.
Speculation around the project intensified recently after Ranbir and Alia were seen visiting Bhansali’s Mumbai office on multiple occasions, signaling that preparations are in full swing.
With Bhansali’s trademark grandeur and a powerhouse cast, Love & War is shaping up to be one of the most awaited cinematic experiences of the decade.
