Presented by Shree Ganesh Cultural Academy, Gopikrishna Sangeet Mahotsav a celebration of music and culture is back with its 26th edition which is taking place on 21st December 2019 in Thane. This year Sarod Master Amaan Ali Bangash will be performing live at Gadkari Rangayatan.
Amaan Ali Bangash, the eldest son and disciple of the Sarod Maestro Amjad Ali Khan and grandson of Haafiz Ali Khan belongs to the seventh generation in an unbroken chain of the Senia Bangash School. Amaan’s musical style is marked by its precision in tunefulness, bold and resonant strokes, along with tradition and continuity of Indian Classical Music.
His performances have evoked creditable applause for himself in the world of music and considered one of the finest Sarod players in the world.
Recently Sarod brothers duo break the jinx on Thirteen by going back to the mecca of musical performances -Carnegie Hall after a long wait of thirteen years. They played traditional ragas for the audiences. Sharing experience on performing at the prestigious venue, the brothers say, “Carnegie Hall is a Mecca for any musician to perform in. It marks a very momentous occasion in any musician’s life keeping in mind the music that has been played here. The standards that have been set here by every performer since 1891 are very high. From orchestras, from single great orchestra conductor, from every violinist, pianist, singer, cellist, along with some of the worlds leading public figures, and since the 1930s some of the leading pop figures in the United States, have been on this stage and created the standard of magnificence by which all performances are judged.”
