Actor Rohit Basfore, 28, who was reportedly part of The Family Man 3, was found dead near a waterfall in the Garbhanga Forest Reserve on Sunday evening. He had recently returned to Guwahati from Mumbai.
Basfore left home around 12:30 PM on Sunday for an outing with friends. Hours later, his family lost contact with him, and a friend informed them of an alleged accident. His body, bearing multiple visible injuries, was discovered and he was declared dead at the hospital.
A postmortem conducted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital confirmed the presence of multiple injuries, including wounds to the head, face, and various parts of the body. The circumstances surrounding his death have raised serious questions, with the family alleging foul play. They claim Rohit had previous altercations over a parking issue with three individuals—Ranjit Basfore, Ashok Basfore, and Dharam Basfore—who had allegedly issued threats against him. Additionally, a gym owner named Amardeep, who invited Rohit for the outing, has also been implicated by the family.
Police have confirmed that all four individuals named by the family are currently absconding. A senior officer stated, “The autopsy revealed several injuries. We are actively investigating, and foul play has not been ruled out. The accused are currently on the run.”
Authorities continue to search for the suspects and are treating the case with urgency. The investigation into Rohit Basfore’s untimely death remains ongoing.
