Johar described this scene as his “favourite directed scene and moment of my career,” reflecting on the myriad experiences and memories that have shaped his filmmaking journey. He wrote, “I have been directing movies for 26 years now… I look back at my directorial career with a multitude of emotions and a truckload of indelible memories… this particular scene and the way it was so beautifully performed by @iamsrk and @kajol will remain my favourite directed scene and moment of my career.”

The director’s nostalgic post resonated with fans of the film, who took to social media to express their admiration. Many praised the film as one of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s finest performances, with one fan noting how their perspective on the film has evolved over the years. “This has to be one of SRK and Kajol’s best movies to date. I was a kid when it was released, but today, as a 32-year-old woman, I feel the film so deeply,” the fan commented.

Fans also reminisced about their favorite scenes from the film. One particular favorite mentioned was the moment when Rizvan asks, “Main wapis kab aau Mandira?” accompanied by a series of sobbing emojis. This scene, like many others in the film, highlights the emotional depth and complexity of Rizvan’s character.

“My Name Is Khan” tells the story of Rizvan Khan, a Muslim man with Asperger syndrome, who embarks on a journey across the United States to meet the President following the death of his adopted son. The film delves into themes of Islamophobia and discrimination against Muslims in the wake of the September 11 attacks.
