The much-awaited crime-action drama Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and starring Anushka Shetty alongside Vikram Prabhu, is scheduled to release globally on July 11, the production house UV Creations announced on Monday. Initially planned for an April 18 release, the makers have now confirmed the new date with a striking poster that captures the intense journey of the film’s characters.
The poster features Anushka Shetty, Vikram Prabhu, and Ravindra Vijay wading through a river, carrying heavy loads, symbolizing the burden and grit that defines the narrative. The makers captioned the announcement: “Coming to claim her throne and conquer the box office. #Ghaati grand release worldwide on July 11th,” signaling their confidence in the film’s impact.
A teaser released last year introduced audiences to Anushka’s fierce character, who is seen boarding a bus with a sickle in hand. Her silver anklets and tattooed feet suggest her roots in a local tribal community, adding authenticity and depth to her portrayal. In a powerful and chilling scene, she ruthlessly decapitates a man, with his blood splattering on her face and trickling down her skin. She then carries the severed head with a fearless resolve. The teaser concludes with a close-up of Anushka smoking a cigar, solidifying her commanding and rebellious persona.

Ghaati is described as a raw and intense tale set in the valleys of India, revolving around a woman who is simultaneously a victim, a criminal, and a legend. The storyline reportedly charts her transformation from a victim to a criminal mastermind entangled in the illicit cannabis trade, exploring themes of survival, power, and resilience.
Produced by Rajeev Reddy and Sai Babu Jagarlamudi under the banner of First Frame Entertainments, the film will be released in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam, ensuring a wide reach across Indian audiences.
Ghaati marks the second collaboration between Anushka Shetty and director Krish Jagarlamudi after their successful 2010 venture, the action drama Vedam. With its gripping narrative and powerful performances, Ghaati is poised to make a significant mark on the Indian film landscape this year.
Fans and movie lovers are eagerly awaiting the July 11 release to witness Anushka Shetty’s compelling portrayal of a complex character in this gritty crime-action saga.
