The 66th National Film Awards recently took place at the Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. This is one of the most prestigious awards in India. This year Dadasaheb Phalke awardee Amitabh Bachchan could not attend this event. Vice President Venkaiah Naidu had honoured all the winners in the presence of Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar.
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal shared the award for being the Best Actor for “Andhadhun” and “Uri: The Surgical Strike” respectively, Arijit Singh received the award for Best Playback Singer (Male). Best Film on Social Issues was given to Akshay Kumar’s “PadMan”.
The best Hindi film has been awarded to “Andhadhun” whereas the best director has been awarded to Aditya Dhar for “Uri: The Surgical strike”. Sanjay Leela Bhansali received the best Music Direction award for “Padmaavat”.
On the other hand, Keerthy Suresh was overwhelmed to receive the best female actor award for her portrayal as Savitri in “Mahanati”. Surekha Sikri received the best-supporting Actress Award for her performance in “Badhaai Ho”. Scroll down for the latest picture from the event…
On his journey to pursue his dreams, he spelt his brilliance in the show titled Return of School Days (2018) where he played the role of Abhishek Mukherjee, a much loved & popular character amongst the audience. He also did a television show Ankhee (2016) on Zoom Channel which gave him a broader fan base.

It marks a very momentous occasion in any musician’s life keeping in mind the music that has been played here. The standards that have been set here by every performer since 1891 are very high. From orchestras, from single great orchestra conductor, from every violinist, pianist, singer, cellist, along with some of the worlds leading public figures, and since the 1930s some of the leading pop figures in the United States, have been on this stage and created the standard of magnificence by which all performances are judged.”
