After the release of the single Genda Phool, it has been viral over social media. The song featuring Jacqueline Fernandez who received lots of appreciation and love from the audience. Although the love & appreciation, Badshah received strong negative reaction for plagiarism. In this song, Badshah used 4 lines of famous Bengali folk song “Boro Loker Beti Lo…” which was penned by Ratan Kahar a veteran folk singer from the Birbhum district, West Bengal.

Whenever Genda Phool released Ratan Kahar came forward and gave a statement that Badshah should give him credit for his song. Now, the rapper-singer took to his social media account to shed light on that matter. Badshah made a long statement where he explained that due to lockdown he is unable to get in touch with Ratan Kahar. He also said in Instagram live that it will be his duty to help an artist like Ratan Kahar. He also mentioned after 1-2 days of releasing the song, through some Twitter messages he came to know that the song was originally written by Ratan Kahar. Then he go through all the video from Youtube in which the song was previously recreated but the name Ratan Kahar was not mentioned anywhere in the credit title.
But as soon as he was aware of the actual fact, he wanted to help Ratan Kahar by any means.
Whether it is his financial problem or the education expense of his daughter. By the end of the video he shares that, “The end of the day he is an artist, it is his duty to help the other artist those who are needy.” He felt sorry that in this lockdown period he could not make it up to Ratan Kahar ji personally. He requested all of his fans, well-wishers or anybody who may contact with Ratan Kahar ji he will always be there for him and he wanted to really help him.
