On the occasion of Allu Arjun’s birthday, the makers of his much-awaited film with director Atlee finally revealed the title Raaka. The film, backed by Sun Pictures, is slated for a theatrical release in 2027 and has already sparked massive excitement among fans.
The announcement came with a striking title poster that presents Allu Arjun in a completely transformed look. The actor appears bald, with dark kohl-lined eyes, intense expressions and animal-like claws, while Viking-inspired symbols are marked across his forehead. The first look hints at a character unlike anything the star has done before.
A dream Atlee has held on to for 18 years
What makes Raaka even more intriguing is the emotional connection Atlee has with the project. Sharing his thoughts after the reveal, the filmmaker called the film deeply personal.
According to Atlee, Raaka is not just another movie, but an idea he has carried with him for nearly 18 years. He described it as a vision that stayed alive through every phase of his journey and shaped him creatively over time.
That statement has added a new layer of curiosity around the film, especially since Atlee is known for delivering large-scale entertainers that also connect emotionally with audiences.

A big-screen spectacle in the making
Before the title reveal, the project was being referred to as AA22 x A6 marking Allu Arjun’s 22nd film and Atlee’s sixth directorial venture. Even at that stage, the film had already created strong buzz.
Last year, the makers released an early glimpse showing the ambition behind the project. The video featured producer Kalanithi Maran, Atlee and Allu Arjun travelling to Los Angeles to collaborate with international animation and VFX experts.
The team working on the film reportedly includes technicians associated with major Hollywood productions such as Iron Man 2 and Transformers, suggesting that Raaka is aiming for a visually grand cinematic experience.
Deepika Padukone joins the world of Raaka
The film also stars Deepika Padukone, making the project even bigger in scale and reach. She is currently the only officially announced cast member apart from Allu Arjun, and her presence has further raised anticipation around the film.
With Atlee at the helm and two major stars coming together, Raaka is already being positioned as one of the most awaited Indian films in the coming years.
What could Raaka be about?
While the makers have not revealed the plot yet, the promotional messaging has hinted at something far beyond a conventional action entertainer. Huge expectations after Jawan and Pushpa 2
The expectations from Raaka are naturally sky-high. Atlee’s last directorial, Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, turned out to be a massive box office success globally. On the other hand, Allu Arjun’s previous outing, Pushpa 2: The Rule, further cemented his status as one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema.
