Kartik Aaryan is on a roll! The actor has officially kicked off shooting for his next big project, Naagzilla, under Dharma Productions. Sharing glimpses from the film’s mahurat ceremony, Kartik took to social media to mark the special day — one that also coincided with the first anniversary of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
In the photo posted on Instagram, Kartik is seen flashing his trademark smile while holding a clapboard that reads the film’s title along with the name of director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. Before the first shot, the team performed a traditional puja, with a haldi tikka placed on the clapboard — a gesture symbolising an auspicious beginning.
Along with the picture, Kartik wrote, “1 Year of #BhoolBhulaiyaa3 / Day 1 of #Naagzilla / Har Har Mahadev / 14th August 2026,” confirming the film’s release date.

The announcement has already sent fans into a frenzy, especially since Naagzilla promises to showcase Kartik in a never-before-seen avatar. The fantasy drama, helmed by Fukrey director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, will explore Indian folklore through a modern lens, blending mythology, fantasy, and drama in equal measure.
Kartik will play Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, an ichchadhari naag — a shape-shifting serpent with divine powers. The first-look motion poster, revealed earlier this year by Karan Johar on the occasion of Naag Panchami, featured Kartik surrounded by snakes, hinting at an intense and larger-than-life storyline.
Naagzilla is being produced by an impressive lineup — Karan Johar, Mahavir Jain, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Sujit Jain, and Mrighdeep Singh Lamba himself. While the plot remains tightly under wraps, early buzz suggests that the film has franchise potential, much like Kartik’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa series.
Adding to the excitement, reports hint that Ravi Kishan may be joining the cast, though no official announcement has been made yet.
This project also marks Kartik’s second collaboration with Karan Johar, after their yet-to-release film Tu Meri Main Tera, co-starring Ananya Panday. Interestingly, Kartik recently shared a fun behind-the-scenes video with Ananya on her birthday, playfully hinting at her possible involvement in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 4 — something fans are eagerly hoping to see confirmed.
