Vikrant Massey’s career has been marked by a thoughtful selection of roles that go beyond mere entertainment to reflect deeper truths about life in India. His performances have often brought to life stories rooted in the everyday struggles, values, and emotions of the country’s heartland, earning him respect as an actor who stays committed to authentic storytelling. His recent National Award win for 12th Fail stands as a testament to this dedication and has given him time to reflect on what shapes his journey in cinema.

When asked if he has explored the full range of such stories, Vikrant told India Today that his vision for cinema extends far beyond any single genre or language. “For me, it’s all Indian cinema. Tomorrow, you might see me in a Tamil or Malayalam film, or in a project from the Northeast or Gujarat — it could be anything,” he explained. Despite this openness, his dedication to telling stories rooted in India’s culture and identity remains steadfast. “I will continue to tell those stories that are deeply anchored in our culture, our heritage, and our individuality. Because—pardon me if you disagree—Mumbai, Delhi, these megacities are not the real Bharat. If you go just 100 kilometres beyond them, that’s when you truly see Bharat. I want to represent those people,” he added.

Vikrant is now taking the next steps in his career with diverse projects that reflect his commitment to storytelling. Recently, he confirmed that he will be part of Dostana 2 alongside Lakshya, marking his first collaboration with Dharma Productions. Speaking to Times Now, he expressed his enthusiasm: “You will see me doing that soon. I think this news is already out. I don’t know why I’m not talking. I’m doing Dostana 2. I’m doing my first Dharma movie.”

In addition, Vikrant will headline White, a historical biopic in which he will portray spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The film has already generated considerable buzz, with audiences eager to see how Vikrant approaches yet another challenging and deeply significant role.

Through his choices, Vikrant Massey continues to demonstrate a rare blend of versatility and rootedness, shaping a cinematic journey that celebrates both the diversity and depth of Indian storytelling.
