Ganesh Chaturthi sparks up the enthusiasm among its devotees. The 10-day celebration is performed with aplomb. Bollywood too has captured the emotion on screen in multiple films. Few of them that you can revisit during the festivals are as follows.
SHOR IN THE CITY
It seems that the film is put together during the festival, and its plot appears during the festival and ends with the festival ending 10 days later. The film has various scenes of chaos like crowded streets, people dancing, unfamiliar faces and beautiful people experienced during festivals in big cities like Mumbai.
AGNEEPATH (2012)
The remake of Big Bachchan’s 1990 film, Agneepath, starring Hrithik Roshan, features the program with the song “Deva Shree Ganesha”, which is now used by Ganesh Vandana dancers all over the world. This movie clearly shows the greatness of Ganesh Chaturthi through this song in the middle of everything in the movie.
DON (2006)
Another adaptation of the Big B starrer of 1978, Don, also has a dance number that is adored by Ganpati and followers. This music can be heard across the country, where the dancers display powerful movements. The event and the film are perfectly suited to the aura of light that prevails during Ganesh Chaturthi.
ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE?
Although the film climaxes on the last day, which means for the immersion of the Ganpati idol, it has a small element of the ceremony such as house prayer, happy children running around the pavilion where Lord Ganesha lived for 10 years, and many others. This funny throwback made by Ajay Devgn and Paresh Rawal is a must if you want to laugh amidst the fun and atmosphere during the festival.
ABCD: The whole body can dance
Directed by Indian actor Remo D’Souza, ABCD is India’s first dance film. And fittingly, it has an inspiring number based on Ganesh Chaturthi since the festival is incomplete without dancing. The song is bursting with energy and devotion as the actors are violent in the song.
