Susant Misra’s Joseph- Born in Grace (2019) has been selected for Oscar- Academy Award nomination.
Nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards will be announced on January 13, 2020. The ceremony takes place in February. 9, 2020, airing live from Hollywood on ABC. Subrat Dutta and Victor Banerjee are the lead characters of this film.

Joseph- Born in Grace is an adaptation of a short story ‘Joseph’ written by Umakanta Mahapatra. The story revolves around a missionary doctor Father O’Hara who with the help of his caretaker raises an orphan baby Joseph.

The film explores in its unfolding of time, the different paths that Father O’Hara, Joseph, and Maularam take in their respective journeys for spiritual fulfilment through memories, duty, and search as well as their interaction with friends and acquaintances. Through static mise-en-scenes, the narration of the film reflects the all-encompassing nature of time, pre-empting and repeating itself in allegorical hues.
