Amid swirling rumors of a potential reunion between Mrunal Thakur and Prabhas for the film Fauji, Thakur has taken to social media to set the record straight. Recent speculation, fueled by an Instagram post from an entertainment portal, suggested that Thakur and Prabhas would be teaming up again following their appearance in Kalki 2898 AD. The post also teased that the film’s first look would be released on August 17th.
Thakur, however, has firmly denied her involvement in the project. In response to the post, she commented, “Sorry to be a vibe killer! Buttttt I’m not a part of this film,” putting an end to the casting rumors.
The film Fauji is generating buzz, not only for its potential star cast but also for its shrouded plot details, which are being kept tightly under wraps. In light of Thakur’s clarification, reports suggest that Shraddha Kapoor might be in discussions to join Prabhas in the film.
Mrunal Thakur’s recent projects have seen varied responses. Her latest release, Family Star, featured Vijay Deverakonda and received a lukewarm reception from audiences despite its impressive cast, which included Abhinaya, Vasuki, Rohini Hattangadi, and Ravi Babu, as well as a special appearance by Divyansha Kaushik. Thakur also made a brief appearance in Kalki 2898 AD, which was notable for its ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Deepika Padukone.
Looking forward, Thakur’s upcoming slate includes Pooja Meri Jaan and a project under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s banner. As she continues to diversify her roles and collaborate with prominent filmmakers, fans and industry watchers will be keen to see how her career unfolds in the coming months.
