Thousands of fans gathered outside Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, on Sunday to celebrate the superstar’s milestone 60th birthday. However, the celebrations took an unexpected turn as the actor was advised by authorities to refrain from stepping out to greet the massive crowd — a yearly ritual fans eagerly look forward to.
The Bollywood legend took to X (formerly Twitter) late Sunday evening to express his regret and explain the situation. “Have been advised by authorities that I will not be able to step out and greet all you lovely people who have been waiting for me. My deepest apologies to all of you but have been informed that it is for the overall safety of everyone due to crowd control issues,” he wrote.

Shah Rukh, known for his heartfelt connection with his fans, added, “Thank you for understanding and believe me… I will miss seeing you more than you will. Was looking forward to seeing you all and sharing love. Love u all…”
Earlier in the day, a sea of fans gathered outside Mannat, leading to heavy crowding and prompting police intervention for crowd management. Even after authorities blocked the roads and requested fans to disperse, many found alternate routes through the beach to get closer to their idol’s home.
Despite the disappointment for fans, the day wasn’t short of excitement. To mark his 60th birthday, Shah Rukh Khan treated audiences to the much-anticipated title teaser of his upcoming action film, King — directed by Siddharth Anand.
The teaser offered a thrilling glimpse into Shah Rukh’s character, a feared former gangster turned prisoner, hinting at a dark, gritty narrative. In the video, scenes of his violent past unfold — where he mercilessly kills without hesitation, followed by his intense monologue: “Kitne khoon kiye, yaad nahi. Achhe log the yaa bure, kabhi pucha nahi. Bass unki aankhon mein ehsaas dekha ki ye unki aakhri saas hain. Aur mein uski wajah.”
The teaser ends with Shah Rukh’s chilling declaration: “Darr nahi, dehshat hoon.”
Sporting a salt-and-pepper look and an air of menace, SRK’s commanding screen presence in King has left fans buzzing with anticipation.
The film — a co-production between Siddharth Anand’s Marflix Pictures and Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment — is being shot across India and Europe and is slated for a 2026 theatrical release.
As wishes continue to pour in from across the world for the Badshah of Bollywood, fans may have missed seeing him wave from Mannat’s balcony — but Shah Rukh made sure to give them something even more memorable: a powerful reminder of why he continues to reign as cinema’s eternal King.
