On Thursday, the much-anticipated trailer for the romantic drama Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video was unveiled at a bustling multiplex in Mumbai. The event was a star-studded affair, featuring the film’s principal cast, including Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Archana Puran Singh, Rakesh Bedi, Mukesh Tiwari, Tiku Talsania, and Mubeen Saudagar, among others.

Rajkummar Rao, who plays a lead role in the film, captured attention not just for his performance but also for his heartfelt remarks about fellow actor Akshay Kumar. When asked about competition with Kumar, Rao expressed his admiration and respect rather than rivalry. “I have learned a lot from Akshay sir. Growing up, I watched him as one of our biggest stars. You don’t compete with your idols; you celebrate them. I am his fan,” Rao stated.

He continued, “Watching legends like Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Akshay sir has been a tremendous source of inspiration. They’ll always be my superstars, and I continue to look up to them.” Rao also shared a touching personal anecdote: “I’m so middle-class that even now, if Akshay Kumar calls me, I stand up in excitement and tell everyone, ‘Look, Akshay sir is calling!’ I can’t believe I’m working in the same industry as the people I’ve admired for so long. Competing with them is simply beyond imagination.”

Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, promises a delightful fusion of laughter and drama. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the 90s, the film aims to transport viewers to a bygone era full of charm and nostalgia. The film will be released on October 11, the same day as Alia Bhatt’s Jigra, creating a significant clash at the box office.

In addition to Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for his next big project, Maalik. Announced on his birthday, the film directed by Pulkit, has already commenced shooting. Rao shared a glimpse of his intense look for the film on Instagram, portraying a rugged persona with a gun in hand. The poster’s tagline, “Paeda nahi huye toh kya, ban toh sakte hai”, hints at a transformative journey.

Triptii Dimri, who shares the screen with Rajkummar in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, is also set to make waves in the horror-comedy genre with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Scheduled for a Diwali 2024 release, the film marks Vidya Balan’s return to the franchise, reprising her iconic role of Manjulika from the 2007 blockbuster.

As both actors continue to diversify their portfolios and take on new challenges, fans can look forward to an exciting blend of genres and performances in the coming months.
